Answer:

Well, begin with figuring out how much minutes per tank. To do that, we take 2h and 20 minutes and convert it only to minutes, just so we can have equal units: 2 x 60 = 200 minutes which is the same as 2hours, and combine that with the 20 makes 220 minutes.

Then, I want to find out of the 4, how much per: 220/4 = 55 minutes.

We want to know how much in 7, so simply just multiply 55 by 7 ( repeating 7, 55 times) which gives us a product of 385 minutes in total, and you can convert that in hours if you would like!

Answer: Let x be the number of tanks and y be the time taken

1hr20min=80min

x   4     80

y   7        y

It is directly proportional

∴x = k(constant)

 y

4  =   80

7         y

4y = 80×7

4y = 560

y =560÷4=140min

∴It will take 140min to fill 7 tanks
