=> 10x+y=180...(i)

• Being similar angle, angle qnl= angle pmn=4x° [p||q, intersected by l ]

So, the equation will be:

4x+x+5y=180°

=> 5x+5y=180 ...(ii)

From (i),

y=180–10x

Substitute this value for y in (ii),

5x+ 5(180–10x)=180

=> 5x+900–50x=180

=> –45x= –720

=> x= 16°

Again substitute this value for x in (i),

(10×16)+y=180

=> y= 20°
