a)

i) CaCO3 + 2HCl → CaCl2 + H2O + CO2 

 Marble is calcium carbonate and on reacting with HCl releases CO2

ii) Ca(OH)2 + CO2 → CaCO3 + H2O 

(Lime water)          (White ppt)  (calcium carbonate)

Explanation

Lime water turns milky due to the formation of white ppt of CaCO3 on passing excess CO2, milkiness disappears because Ca(HCO3)2 is formed which is soluble in water.  

CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 → Ca(HCO3)2  

                                      Soluble in water 

b)Answer :

(i) It is weakly alkaline is nature and neutralizes acid (HCl ) formed is the stomach.

NaHCO3 + HCl --->NaCl + H2O +CO

(ii) It evolves CO2 in the form of bubbles when cake is made by baking. As a result, the cake becomes porous as well as fluffy.

NaHCO3 -heat-> Na 2CO3 + H2O + CO2

The chemical formula of baking soda is Na 2CO3..
