Given:

• The product of 2 numbers is 8192.

• One of the number is 2 times the second number.

To find:

• The smaller number

Solution:

Let us assume that the first no. and second no. be z and 2z respectively.

This problem can be solved by two methods:

(1)By finding square root

(2)Using the Quadric Formula

Let's solve by finding square root

From the question,

z × 2z = 8192

=> z^2 × 2 = 8192

=> z^2 = 8192/2

=> z^2 = 4096

=> z = ✓4096

=> z = 64

∴ First no. = 2 × 64 = 128

Second no. = 64

Verification:

The product of two no. = 128 × 64 = 8192.

Hence,verified!!
