GIVEN:

  • Perimeter of trapezium = 104m

  • Altitude of trapezium = 16m

  • AD and BC are non parallel sides .

  • AD = 18m and BC = 22m

TO FIND:

  • Area of trapezium (ABCD)

SOLUTION:

Perimeter of trapezium = 104m

=> AB + BC + CD + AD = 104m

=> a + 22 + b + 18 = 104m

=> a + b + 22 + 18 = 104m

=> a + b + 64 = 104m

=> a + b = 104 - 64

=> a + b = 64

=> a + b = 64m

Area of trapezium = 1/2 (a+b) × h

= 1/2 (a+b) × h

= 1/2 (64) × 16

= 1024/2

= 512

= 512 m²

Therefore,Area of trapezium is 512 m²
