solve this questionsolve this question for me it is in the chapter co-ordinate geometry in RS AGRAWALL BOOK OF CLASS 10TH

(10)^2=(2-10)^2+(-3-y)^2
100=(-8)^2+(-3)^2-2(-3)(y)+(y)^2
100=64+9+6y+y^2
100=73+6y+y^2
100-73=6y+y^2
27=6y+y^2
y^2+6y-27=0
y^2+9y-3y+27=0
y(y+9)-3(y+9)=0
(y+9)(y-3)=0
either y=-9 (which is not possible)
or y=3

so answer is y=3
