The given equations are ,

5a + 4c = 108 \\ 2a + 3c = 53

Using substitution method ,

5a = 108 - 4c \\ a =  \frac{108 - 4c}{5}

Substituting the value of a in equation 2 we get ,

  =  > \frac{2(108 - 5c)}{4}  + 3c = 53

 =  > 216 + 14c = 424

  =  > \frac{216 - 10c}{8} + 3c  = 53

  =  > \frac{216 - 10c + 24}{8}  = 53

 =  > 14c = 208 \\  =  > c =  \frac{208}{14}

c = 14.85

Again substuting the value of c=14.85 in equation one we get,

5a + 4c = 108 \\ 5a + 4(14.85) = 108 \\  =  > 5a = 108 - 59.28 \\  =  > a =  \frac{48.72}{5}   \\  =  > a = 9.74

Therefore the value of a=9.74

and b=14.85.
