Answer:

2500

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price of the radio be x.

(i) Profit at 12%.

Selling price of radio = x + 12% of x

                                  = x + (12/100) * x

                                  = (112x/100)

(ii) Profit at 17%.

Selling price of radio = x + 17% of x

                                   = x + (17/100) * x

                                   = (117x/100).

Given, Difference between them is 125.

⇒ (117x/100) - (112x/100) = 125

⇒ (117x - 112x)/100 = 125

⇒ (5x/100) = 125

⇒ 5x = 12500

⇒ x = 2500.

∴ Cost price of each radio = 2500.

Hope it helps!

case 1: let the c.p of the first radio be Rs 100 profit= 12% sp= 100+12 x 100 100 s.p= Rs 112 case 2: c.p of the second radio=Rs 100 p= 17% sp= 100+17 x 100 100 s.p= Rs 117 then therefore difference in s.p= Rs (117 - 112) =Rs 5 therefore,when diff. in s.p of two radios is=Rs 5 then cp=Rs 100 when diff. in s.p of the radios is= Rs 125 then cp= 100 x 125 = Rs 2500 5 therefore s.p of each radio is= Rs 2500
