Equivalent resistance = sum of all resistances . That is

R'= R1+R2. (1)

R1= 1/2 + 1/2 +1/2

= 2/3ohm.

We know R2= 'X'

From (1)

1= 3

2/3+x

1 - 2/3= x

1/3ohm= x

R2= 1/3

Hence option (c) is correct.
