3x+y = 4 -------(1)

5x + 2y = 25 ------(2)

The coefficient of y in the first equation is 1, the coefficient of y in the second equation is 2. So, we have to multiply the first equation by 2.

6x + 2y = 8

5x + 2y = 25

x = - 17

By applying the value of x in (1), we get

3(-17 )+ y = 4

y = 55

Hence the solution is (-17,55).
