Let the number to be subtracted be x

-1 - x         = 5/3
-1 - 5 / 3    = x
(-3 - 5) / 3 = x
-8 / 3         = x
x                = -8

Hence, the number to be subtracted = (-8)

Hope it helps. Please mark it as the brainliest.
