Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let 4x+3y=14 be equation 1 and the other equation be 2

then multiply equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 4

12x+9y=42--equation3

12x-16y=92---equation4

------------------

0+27y=-50

y=-50/27=-10/3  now put the value of y in equation 1 we get x=6

Answer:

4x + 3y = 14 .. eq 1

3x - 4y = 23 .... eq2

Multiplying 4 on both sides of eq 1 ;

16x + 12y = 56 ....eq 1

and multiplying 3 on both sides of eq.2 ;

9x - 12y = 69 .... eq2

Now adding both equations...

16x + 12y + 9x - 12y = 125

25x = 125.

x = 5

Now substitution of this value in the initial eq.1 gives us the value of y;

4X5 +3y = 14

20 - 14 = - 3 y

-8 = -3y

y = 8/3 and x = 5
