Answer:

x+y=1 and 2x-3y=11

By cross multiplication method:

x=y-1 ….......(1)

Substituting x value in 2x-3y=11

2(y-1)-3y=11

2y-2-3y=11

-2-y=11

-y=11+2

-y=13

y=-13

Substituting y value in (1)

x=13-1

=12

Therefore x=12, y=13

Hope this helps you!

Thank you!

given \: eq. \:  \:  \: is \:  \:  \:  \: x + y = 1

x = 1 - y \:  \:  \:  \: ........(1)

2x - 3y = 11 \:  \:  \:  \: .......(2)

2(1 - y) - 3y = 11 \\  \\  =  > 2 - 2y - 3y = 11 \\  \\  =  > 2 - 5y = 11 \\  \\  =  >  - 5y = 11 - 2 \\  \\  =  >  - 5y = 9 \\  \\  =  > y =  -  \frac{9}{5}

substitute \:  \: y \:  =   - \frac{ 9}{5} \:  \:  in \: (1) \: we \: get

 =  > x = 1 - y \\  \\  =  > x = 1 - ( -  \frac{9}{5} )

 =  > x = 1 +  \frac{9}{5} \\  \\  =  > x =  \frac{14}{5}
