2x + y=7 --(1)

4x -3y=-1 --(2)

Let's take eq1, 2x + y=7

x=7-y/2 --(3)

Substitute value of x from eq 3 to eq 2

4(7-y/2) -3y=-1

28-4y/2-3y=-1

28-4y/2=-1+3y

28-4y=2(-1+3y)

28-4y=-2+6y

28+2=6y+4y

30=10y

y=30/10

y =3

Now, substitute value of y in eq 3

x=7-y/2

=7-3/2

=4/2

x =2

So, the value of x &y are 2 and 3 respectively.
