p =7

Explanation:

Given:

1.  24-3(p+1)=2

To find:

The value P

TRANSPOSING METHOD:

The term in the LHS is transposing to the RHS. It will get reversed in RHS or LHS.

If we add a number on LHS, the same number will add to RHS.

Solution:

==> 24-3(p+1)=2

==> Multiply 3 in the bracket to get a linear equation

==> 24-3p-1=2

==> Add -24 on both sides

==> -24+24-3p-1 = 2-24

==> -3p-1=-22

==> Add +1 on both sides

==> -3p-1+1=-22+1

==> -3p=-21

==> The negative sign gets cancels and become positive

==> 3p =21

==> p =7
