Hey mate ✌☺

Here is your answer .

Answer:

3). In this question we have to find alpha + beta + alpha beta .

Firstly we will find the zeroes of the given polynomial .

But we can't find this polynomial zeroes using splitting the middle term method because it is not possible .

2x^2 +5x +1

a= 2 , b= 5 ,c = 1

alpha + beta = -b/a = -5/2

alpha × beta = c/a = 1/2

alpha + beta + alpha × beta = ?

-5/2 + 1/2

-5+1/2

-4/2

-2/1

-2

.: we get the value of it which is -2 .

4). p (x) = 3k^2 +(2k+1) x -k+5

a= 3k ,b = 2k+1 , c= -k+5

alpha + beta = -b/a = -2k+1 /3k

alpha ×beta = c/a = -k+5 /3k

it is given in the question that ,

alpha +beta = alpha × beta

-2k +1 /3k = -k+5/3k

-2k+1 = -k +5

-2k +k = 5 -1

-k = 4

k = -4

.: value of k is -4 .
