Total amount of cake =2/3
Anil ate=4/7
Amount of cake left=2/3-4/7=14-12/21=2/21
therfore 2/21 he has eaten

lyonskm99: incorrect .. he ate 2/3 of the cake which means he has 1/3 left which he at 4/7 of as well..

So, at first he ate 2/3 means remaining=1/3 now he ate 4/7 of 1/3 that is =1/3*4/7=4/21

So total amount he ate=(2/3)+(4/21)=18/21

Total remains =1–(18/21) = 3/21 = 1/7

1/7 is the answer.
