Solution :-

 \red{\sf{\dfrac{x + 1}{2x + 3} = \dfrac{3}{8} }} \\ \\

On cross multiplying,

 \dashrightarrow \: \tt{8(x + 1) = 3(2x + 3)} \\ \\

\dashrightarrow \: \tt{8x + 8 = 6x + 9} \\ \\

Group variables on one side

\dashrightarrow \: \tt{8x - 6x = 9 - 8} \\ \\

Further simplifying

\dashrightarrow \: \tt{2x = 1} \\ \\

Therefore

\dashrightarrow \: \boxed{\bf{x = \dfrac{1}{2} }} \\ \\

VERIFICATION:

Put the value of x in the question and verify it with RHS.

  • (x + 1) = ½ + 1 = 3/2
  • (2x + 3) = 2(½) + 3 = 1 + 3 = 4

(x + 1)/(2x + 3) = 3/2 ÷ 4 = 3/8

Solving LHS, we arrived at RHS.
