Solution :-

On cross multiplying,

$\dashrightarrow \: \tt{8(x + 1) = 3(2x + 3)}$

$\dashrightarrow \: \tt{8x + 8 = 6x + 9}$

Group variables on one side

$\dashrightarrow \: \tt{8x - 6x = 9 - 8}$

Further simplifying

$\dashrightarrow \: \tt{2x = 1}$

Therefore

$\dashrightarrow \: \boxed{\bf{x = \dfrac{1}{2} }}$

VERIFICATION:

Put the value of x in the question and verify it with RHS.

• (x + 1) = ½ + 1 = 3/2
• (2x + 3) = 2(½) + 3 = 1 + 3 = 4

(x + 1)/(2x + 3) = 3/2 ÷ 4 = 3/8
