Answer:

x = -p+3  or  x = p+2

Step-by-step explanation:

x² - 5x - (p-3)(p+2) = 0

=> x² + ( (p-3) + (-p-2) )x + (p-3)(-p-2) = 0

=> ( x + (p-3) ) ( x + (-p-2) ) = 0

=> x = -(p-3) = -p+3

or x = -(-p-2) = p+2

Anonymous: You're welcome. Glad to have helped!
Papa2887: Sorry to distrub u......please help me to solve this : The area of a square is double the area of a rectangle.The length of the rectangle is 5cm more than each side of the square and breadth is 12cm less . find the perimeter of the triangle.
Anonymous: I guess you mean "rectangle" not "triangle". Post the question in Brainly and you'll have your answer!
Anonymous: You'll also need more information in that question. Make sure you have it all!
Papa2887: find the perimeter of a rectangle......
Papa2887: not triangle.Sooo sorry
Anonymous: No, sorry... I missed the first part! "area of square is double area of rectangle". That's enough then. Let x be side of square. Its area is x^2. Rectangle sides are x+5 and x-12 so its area is (x+5)(x-12). First sentence then says x^2 = 2(x+5)(x-12). Expand the quadratic and solve.
Anonymous: When you solve it, you should get x= -6 or x=20. It can't be negative, so x=20. That means the rectangle has sides 25 and 8, so the perimiter is 66.
Papa2887: Bro. no doubt u are epert for me ......that is why I choose u first for my problem. A man goes to place of distance 8km & returns to the same place by boat in 4hrs 16mins. If the speed of the stream is 1km/hr.,find the speed of the boat in still water.
Papa2887: agsin I am distrubing u sorry

The exact solution to the above question is illustrated in the given picture. What you have to remember here is written at the top of the picture which represents the general form of a quadratic equation. After that like middle term factorisation, we proceed the steps and at last we have easily obtained two values of x which are the required roots of the given quadratic equation.

PLEASE REFER TO THE ILLUSTRATED PICTURE FOR VIEWING THE EXACT SOLUTION TO THIS QUESTION.
