solve ( x² - 8x - 9 ) by x + 2

Solution:-

Method- 1

By taking x + 2

=> x + 2 = 0

=> x = - 2

Now put the valu of x on given polynomial:- x² - 8x - 9

We get

=> x² - 8x - 9

=> x = - 2

=> ( - 2 )² - 8 × (- 2 ) - 9

=> 4 + 16 - 9

=> 4 + 16 - 9

=> 11

Remainder = 11
