Given :

  • ( x - 2 )( x - 5 ) + 12 = ( x + 3 )( x - 4 ) - 2

To Find :

  • Value of x

Solution :

→ ( x - 2 ) ( x - 5 ) + 12 = ( x + 3 ) ( x - 4 ) - 2

→ x² - 5x - 2x + 10 + 12 = x² - 4x + 3x - 12 -2

→ x² - 7x + 22 = x² - x - 14

→ - 7x + 22 = - x - 14

→ - 7x + x = - 14 - 22

→ - 6x = - 36

→ x = - 36 / - 6

→ x = 6

x=6

Step-by-step explanation:

(x-2)(x-5) + 12 = (x+3)(x-4) -2

therefore, (x-2)(x-5) + 14= (x+3)(x-4)

therefore, (x²-5x-2x+10) + 14= (x²-4x+3x-12)

therefore, x²-7x+10 +14 = x²-x-12

therefore, x²-x² +24+12 = 7x-x

therefore, 36=6x

therefore, x=6
