x/3 + 5/2 = -3/2

x/3= -3/2 - 5/2

x/3= -8/2

x= -4 × 3

x= -12

Answer:

Here:-

 \frac{x}{3}  +  \frac{5}{2}  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}

taking

L.C.M of 3 & 2

that is

L.C.M=6(3×2)

 \frac{x}{3}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  =  \frac{2x}{6}  \\  \frac{5}{2}  \times  \frac{3}{3}  =  \frac{15}{6}  \\   \frac{2x}{6}  +  \frac{15}{6}  \\  \frac{2x + 15}{6}

and now we've got the equation

 \frac{2x + 15}{6 }  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}  \\ 2x + 15 =  \frac{ - 3}{2}  \times 6 \\ 2x + 15 =  \frac{ - 18}{2}  =  - 9 \\ 2x =  - 9  -  15 \\ 2x =  - 24 \\ x =  \frac{ - 24}{2}  \\ x =  - 12

therefore the value of x=-12

Let's check whether it's correct or not

 \frac{x}{3}  +  \frac{5}{2}  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}   \\  \frac{ - 12}{3}  +  \frac{5}{2}  =  \frac{ -3 }{2}  \\

Taking L.C.M to prove

that is 6,as we already know

   \frac{ - 12}{3}  \times  \frac{2}{2}  =  \frac{ - 24}{6}  \\   \frac{5}{2}  \times  \frac{3}{3}  =  \frac{15}{6}  \\  \frac{ - 24}{6}  +  \frac{15}{6}  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}  \\  \frac{ - 24 + 15} {6}  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}  \\   \frac{ - 9}{6}  =    \frac{ - 3}{2}  \\

both divisible by 3

 \frac{ - 3}{2}  =  \frac{ - 3}{2}

L.H.S=R.H.S

hence verified

hope it helps
