• $\frac{x}{3} + 8 = x -6$

        $\frac{x}{3} - x =-6 -8 \\\frac{x-3x}{3}= -14 \\x -3x = (-14)\times( 3 ) \\-2x = - 42 \\x = \frac{42}{2} \\x = 21$

Hence, value of $x$  is $21$ .
