x -  \frac{4}{2}  +  \frac{x}{3}  \\  \\  = x -  \frac{12 + 2x}{6}  \\  \\  =  \frac{6x - 12 + 2x}{6}

Put the like terms together:

 =  \frac{ - 12 + 6x + 2x}{6}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 12 + 8x}{6}
