From x+4y=13...(i)

x=13-4y...(ii)

substituting (ii) in 2x-y=8

2(13-4y)-y=8

26-8y-y=8

26-9y=8

26-8=9y

18=9y

9y=18

y=18/9

y=2

substituting 'y' value in (i)

x+4y=13

x+(4×2)=13

x+8=13

x=13-8

x=5

Therefore x=5,y=2
