x = \dfrac{1}{7} and y=\dfrac{2}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equations are:

3x + 2y = 1                        ..........(1)

and  2x - y = 0                 ..........(2)

To find, the values of x and y = ?

Multiplying equation (2) by 2, we get

2(2x - y) = 2(0)

4x - 2y = 0                     ..........(3)

Adding equations (1) and (3), we get

3x + 2y + 4x - 2y = 1 + 0

⇒ 7x = 1

⇒ x = \dfrac{1}{7}

Put x = \dfrac{1}{7} in equation (1), we get

3(\dfrac{1}{7} )+2y=1

2y=1-\dfrac{3}{7} =\dfrac{7-3}{7}

2y=\dfrac{4}{7}

y=\dfrac{4}{14}=\dfrac{2}{7}

x = \dfrac{1}{7} and y=\dfrac{2}{7}
