x+3y=1
x=1-3y.....(I)
substituting the value of x in second equation
2x+y=3
2(1-3y)+y=3
2-6y+y=3
2-5y=3
-5y=1
y=-1/5
substituting the value of y in equation.....(I)
x=1-3y
x=1-3(-1/5)
x=1+3/5
x=(5+3)/5
x=8/5
