Heya!!
The euations are :
2x + y = 3 .........(i)
x + 3y = 1 ...........( ii )
In eq (ii)
x + 3y = 1
=) x = 1 - 3y ...........(iii)
Now,
In eq (i)
2x + y = 3
=) 2 ( 1 - 3y ) + y = 3
=) 2 - 6y + y = 3
=) 2 - 5y = 3
=) 5y = -1
=) y = -1 / 5
________________________
Then,
In eq (iii)
x = 1 - 3y
=) x = 1 - 3 ( -1/5 )
=) x = 1 + 3/5
=) x = ( 5 + 3 ) / 5
=) x = 8/5
Hence, the value of x = 8/5 and y = -1/5 .
Hope it helps uh :)
