5x+12y = 7 ............(ii)

from (i) x = 11-y

substituting the value of x in (ii) we get

5(11-y) + 12y =7

55 - 5y +12y = 7

55 + 7y =7

7y = 7-55

y= -48/7

putting value of y in i we get

x = 11+48/7

x = 17.9
