Answer:

x = 18 / 5 and y = 3 / 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given---> x - y = 3 and 3 x + 2 y = 12

To find ---> Value of x and y .

Solution---> ATQ, x - y = 3 ...........( 1 )

3 x + 2 y = 12

Now taking equation ( 1 )

x - y = 3

=> x = y + 3

Putting x = y + 3 in equation ( 2 ) , we get,

=> 3 ( y + 3 ) + 2 y = 12

=> 3 y + 9 + 2 y = 12

=> 5 y = 12 - 9

=> 5 y = 3

=> y = 3 / 5

Putting y = 3 / 5 in equation ( 1 )

x - ( 3 / 5 ) = 3

=> x = 3 + ( 3 / 5 )

=> x = ( 15 + 3 ) / 5

=> x = 18 / 5

So , x = 18 / 5 and y = 3 / 5
