Solve x + y = 3 and 4x - 3y = 26 using elimination

•Given:-

x + y = 3 and 4x - 3y = 26

•To find:-

The value of x & y

•Solution:-

The equations are

x + y = 3....(1)

4x - 3y = 26....(2)

If we multiply 3 with equation (1)

then it would be

3x+3y= 9 .....(3)

now if we add (2) and (3)

then

7x = 35

or, x = 5

If we put the value of x in equation (1)

then

5 + y = 3

or, y = -2

so x= 5

y = -2
