Question :-

Solve these .

x + y = 5

and ,

2x - 3y -4 = 0

Answer :-

→ x = 25/6 and y = 5/6

Explanation :-

We have ,

→ x + y = 5 ....eq.(1)

→ 2x - 3y -4 = 0 ....eq.(2)

Firstly take eq.(1)

→x + y = 5

→ x = 5 - y

put this value of x in eq.(2)

→ 2(5 - y) - 3y -4 = 0

→ 10 - 2y - 3y - 4 = 0

→10 - 5y - 4 = 0

→ 6 = 5y

→ y = 5/6

\_________________/

now put this value of y in eq.(1)

→ x + 5/6 = 5

→ x = 5 - 5/6

→ x = 25/6

Hence ,

→ x = 25/6 and y = 5/6

Check result :-

Put the value of"x"and "y" in eq .(1)

→ 5/6 + 25/6 = 5

→ (5+25)/6= 5

→ 30/6 = 5

→ 5 = 5

hence verified.
