x-y=5..........(1)
x^2-xy+2y^2=22
x(x-y)+2y^2=22
x×5+2y^2=22........(2)
(1)×5-(2) we get
5x-5y=25
5x+2y^2=22
or-5y-2y^2=3
or 2y^2+5y+3=0
or y(2y+3)+1(2y+3)=0
or(y+1)(2y+3)=0
so y=-1, y=-3/2
putting the value of y in (1)
x=4, x=7/2
x^2-xy+2y^2=22
x(x-y)+2y^2=22
x×5+2y^2=22........(2)
(1)×5-(2) we get
5x-5y=25
5x+2y^2=22
or-5y-2y^2=3
or 2y^2+5y+3=0
or y(2y+3)+1(2y+3)=0
or(y+1)(2y+3)=0
so y=-1, y=-3/2
putting the value of y in (1)
x=4, x=7/2
