x=10

y=8-10
y=-2

Here is ur answer

Given that:

x + y = 8  ---------- 1

x - y = 2 ------------ 2

By solving both by elimination method,

       x + y = 8

       x  - y = 2

------------------------

     2x     = 10 ( due to alternative signs y will get cancelled out)

         x = 10/2

         x = 5 -----------3

Substitute 3 in equation 1

x + y = 8

5 + y = 8

y = 8 - 5

y = 3

Therefore,

(x,y) = ( 5,3)
