x + y = 3

x - y = 1

adding 1 and 2, we get

x + y = 3

x - y = 1

x = 2 and

y= 1.

hey mate here is your answer

given that x+y=3 and x-y=1

first we should find out values of x and y

think x+y=3 this is equation 1

think x-y =1 this is equation 2

equation 1- equation 2

x+y=3

x-y=1

here +y and -y will cancel

the remaining is x+x=3+1

2x=4

x=4/2

x=2

substitute x=2 in equation 1 or 2 your wish i am substituting in equation one

equation one is x+y=3

keep 2 in place of x

2+y=3

y=3-2

y=1

so, the values of x and y is 2,1

according to given question we should prove it

2+1=3

2-1=1

hence, proved

hope it helps you
