As per given

 {x}^{2} - 15x + 26

The simple step is

Do the product of first and third term

and split the middle term in its form

For Example

 - x {}^{2} \times - 26 = 26 {x}^{2} \\ so \: split \: the \: middle \: term \: to \: get \: the \\ product \: as \: 26 {x}^{2} \\

i.e

-13x and -2x

 = > {x}^{2} - 13x - 2x + 26 \\ = > x(x - 13) - 2(x - 13) \\ = > (x - 2)(x - 13)

So factors are 2 and 13.
