Formula is x =[ -b±√(b²-4ac)] / 2a

Here in our question,

a = 1 , b= -6 , c= 5

On substituting, we get,

x = [-(-6)±√(36-4(1)(5)] / 2

x = (6 ±√16)/2

x = (6+4)/2 or x= (6-4)/2

x = 5 or x = 1
