x² -7x +12 = 0 = ax²+bx+c

a = 1

b = -7

c = 12

Using Formula

x = {-b ± √(b²-4ac)}/2a

=> x = {7 ± √(7²-4×1×12)}/2×1

=> x = {7 ± √49-48}/2

=> x = {7±1}/2

=> x = 4 or x = 3

Answer:

It can be solved by the method of splitting the middle terms.

-7x can be written as -4x-3x.

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2-4x-3x+12

Taking x as common from both the sides:-

x(x-4)-3(x-4)

(x-3) (x-4)

Therefore,the correct answer is (x-3) (x-4)
