AnSwer:

x=1 and y=3

SoLution:

The given equations are

y-2x=1...(1)

5y-x=14...(2)

Multiply equation (2) by 2

10y-2x=28...(3)

Subtract eq(2) from eq(3)

10y-2x=28

-

y-2x=1

_________

9y=27

Divide both sides by 9

y=3

Substituting y=3 in eq(1)

3-2x=1

2x=2

x=1

(x,y)=(1,3) in the solution for given equations.
