y + \frac{y}{2} = \frac{7}{4} - \frac{y}{4} \\ \frac{2y + y}{y} = \frac{7 - y}{4} \\ 7y - 7 = 8y + 4 \\ - 7 - 4 = 8y - 7y \\

SOLUTION:-

Given:

y + y/2 = 7/4 - y/4

Explanation:

 = > y + \frac{y}{2} = \frac{7}{4} - \frac{y}{4} \\ \\ = > \frac{2y + y}{2} = \frac{7 - y}{4} \\ \\ [cross \: multiplication] \\ \\ = > 4(2y + y) = 2(7 - y) \\ \\ = > 8y + 4y = 14 - 2y \\ \\ = > 12y = 14 - 2y \\ \\ = > 12y + 2y = 14 \\ \\ = > 14y = 14 \\ \\ = > y = \frac{14}{14} \\ \\ = > y = 1
