To solve this type of question,we can simply use one formula, that is ,


 =  > ( \frac{r}{100 + r}  \times 100)\%

Wherw "r" is equal to increases in the percentages,here is, 20 %


So,


 =  >(  \frac{r}{r + 100}  \times 100)\%

 =  >  (\frac{20}{100 + 20} \times 100)\%

 =  >  (\frac{20}{120}  \times 100)\%

 =  >  \frac{50}{3} \% = 16 \frac{2}{3} \% \: or \: 16.66\%

Hence,

Varun should reduce his consumption to "16.66 ℅" so that his expenditure on Vegetable remain same.
