Given : (9.7) x (10.3)

To Find : Solve using  (a + b)(a - b),

Solution:

(9.7) x (10.3)

= (10.3) x (9.7)

10.3  = 10 + 0.3

9.7 = 10 - 0.3

a = 10

b = 0.3

(10 + 0.3)(10 - 0.3)

 (a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²

= 10²  - (0.3)²

= 100 - 0.09

= 99.91

(9.7) x (10.3)  = 99.91
