Answer:

a) 3(x + 3)=21

3x +9 =21

3x =21-9

3x= 12

x=4

b) 10(t - 3)=40

10t - 30 =40

10t, =40+30

10t = 70

t=7

c) 42=3 (3m - 4)

42 = 9m -12

42+12= 9m

54 =9m

m = 6

d) 60=4 (2x - 5)

60 = 8x -20

60 +20 = 8x

80 =8x

x= 10

e) 3(4 + x)=24

12 +3x =24

3x= 24-12

3x = 12

x= 4

f) 2(x - 3)=1

2x -6=1

2x =1+6

2x= 7

x=7/2

x=3.5
