Given : y=x²-x-12​

To Find : Solve

Solution:

y=x²-x-12

y = x² - 4x + 3x - 12

=>y= x(x - 4) + 3(x - 4)

=> y = (x + 3)(x - 4)

x          y =x²-x-12

1             -12

0.5         -12.25

0            -12

-1            -10

-2           -6

-3            0

-4            8

x = - 3

x = 4

Minimum value  - 12.25  at  x = 0.5
