3 - 4x = 1 \\  - 4x = 1 - 3 \\  - 4x =  - 2 \\ x =  \frac{ - 2}{ - 4}   \\  = x =  \frac{1}{2}

 \frac{x}{3}  + 7 = 10 \\  \frac{x}{3}  = 10 - 7 \\  \frac{x}{3}  = 3 \\ x = 9
