પૃથ્વીએ સૂર્યમંડળ માં ફરતા બધાજ ગ્રહોની જેમ એક ગ્રહ જ છે. પરંતુ પૃથ્વીને તેની આબોહવા બીજા ગ્રહો થી અલગ પાડે છે. આખા સૂર્યમંડળ માં માત્ર પૃથ્વીજ એક એવો ગ્રહ છેકે જ્યાં જીવન સંભવ છે. પૃથ્વી પર પૂરતા પ્રમાણ માં ઓક્સિજન આવેલો છે જેથી અહીં સજીવ સૃષ્ટિ પાંગરી શકે છે.  

સૂર્યની આજુબાજુ ના પરિભ્રમણ અને તાપમાન તફાવત ના લીધે પૃથ્વી પર વિવિધ ચોક્કસ ગાળા માટે ઋતુ આવેલી છે. મુખ્યત્વે પૃથ્વી પર ચાર ઋતુઓ છે. જેમાં શિયાળો, ઉનાળો, વસંત અને ચોમાસા નો સમાવેશ થાય છે.  

પૃથ્વી પર આવેલા સમુદ્ર તટ નીચે પણ સજીવ સૃષ્ટિ પાંગરે છે.
