Answer:

first take ram, mitra and shirpa as A,B,C....(optional)

THEN,Given: Ratio of A:B:C = 5:2:1 = 5x:2x:1x

Now A gives 1000 each to B and C

Hence:

A now has: 5x-2000

B has: 2x+1000

C has: x+1000

Given the new ratio is: 8:5:3

Take any two ratios.

Here, i am considering the ratio of B and C

2x+1000/x+1000 = 5/3

3*(2x+1000) = 5*(x+1000)

6x + 3000 = 5x + 5000

x = 2000

Hence total amount = 5x+2x+x = 8x = 8*2000 = 16,000.

Hope it helps.
