This is called Ectoparasitic nutrition.

  • Some animals depend on the other animals for their food ,they do not make their own food instead they live on the body surface or within the body of other animals and obtain their food by sucking their blood .

  • If they live on the body surface not inside the body of the host and feed on them then this type of nutrition is called Ectoparasitic nutrition.

  • If they live inside the body of the host and feed on them then this type of nutrition is called Endoparasitic nutrition.

  • For examples - Lice , they live on the scalp of human and feed on the human blood. Also, they live on the body surface of some animals for obtaining their food.
