per head rupees =3000/x

not attained 5 students

so attained students are = x-5

then per head rupees = 3000/x-5

the faction is,

3000/x-5 - 3000/x = 30

3000(1/x-5 - 1/x) = 30

x-x+5/x(x-5) = 1/100

x²-5x = 500

x²-5x-500=0

x²-25x + 20x - 500=0

x(x-25) +20(x-25)=0

(x+25) (x-25) = 0

x-25=0

x=25

so total students 25

& attained students are (25-5)=20
