Solution :-

Let us Assume that number of children in play were 7x and No. of adults were x.

So,

Cost of 1 child Ticket = $50

→ cost of all 7x children Ticket = 50*7x = 350x .

And,

Cost of 1 Adult Ticket = $70

→ cost of all x Adult Ticket = 70*x = 70x .

Therefore,

All of them paid altogether = 350x + 70x = 420x .

A/q,

420x = $5040

→ x = 12 .

Hence,

Total Adults attended the play = x = 12 (Ans.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us Assume that number of children in play were 7x and No. of adults were x.

So,

→ Cost of 1 child Ticket = $50

→ cost of all 7x children Ticket = 50*7x = 350x .

And,

→ Cost of 1 Adult Ticket = $70

→ cost of all x Adult Ticket = 70*x = 70x .

Therefore,

→ All of them paid altogether = 350x + 70x = 420x .

A/q,

→ 420x = $5040

→ x = 12 .

Hence,→ Total Adults attended the play = x = 12 (Ans.)
